If I Had A Million Dollars

I'm using this idea from The Writer's Cocoon...feel free to join in and let me know in the comments if you post your own at your blog because I'd love to see them. :)

I would...

First donate to support agriculture education, young adult libraries, and Feed the Children organizations and then,

Restore an old farmhouse on 500 acres, like this one...

Set my new farm with Black Hereford/Angus cross beef cattle (affectionately called black baldies because they don't have horns and are black), like this...

Buy a few rescue horses, like this one...and maybe set up a sancuary

Make my own library in my house, like this one...

And finally, create two scholarships. One for future agriculture educators and the other for writers with an agriculture background.

These aren't in order of most inportant, just what I thought of first....the library has always been a dream of mine. Ahh, to be surrounded by books...sorry daydreaming.

okay, so this is what I would do with a million, it's really sad what this guy did with way more than that. I have a hard time feeling sorry for him when the money he used could have helped him live a more "plush" life and help millions of others. See link below:

I like your ideas on how to spend the money. My brother's finance started a farm with rescue animals and it's so fun to visit! They have two older horses, chickens, goats, and ducks.

The library looks impressive!

All very worthy things to do with a million dollars. The Nicolas Cage business is obnoxious isn't it?

Natalie, Oh, my gosh yes. It drives me crazy. Everything on tv is talking about it and then you hear about everything that was bought with the money, like 22 cars and multiple homes. It's insane!!

Aubrie, That's really neat that your brother set up a rescue farm :) I love that library too. Mine would have to have the second level with the balcony because that's my favorite part :)

If I had money to burn like the rest of the wacko celebrities....
I'd like to have a farm from the 1950's. Everything on the Farm would have to be older than 1960. No one would be allowed on the farm in new cars or new style clothes. Deleveries would have to be transferred to old trucks. I'd be strange and uptight about it. I'd drive around my farm in a big old 1953 Caddy dressed like Howard Hughes or something. I'd let people bring their old tractors out and farm with them.
Or not.
Otherwise I'd pay off my depbts, my family debt, and establish a fund for good Christian preschool education. I'd hire grandparent types to teach kids the old stories and old culture. (My daughter went to a preschool like that and became much smarter.)
Sometimes I ramble...

Wait, what happened with Nicholas Cage? This is is what happens when you don't read the news or tabloids, you miss all the gossip! First thing I'd so is pay off my parents mortgage and debt so they could breathe easily again. Then I'd sit down and do some seriously planning. Oh, the possibilities!

Nicholas Cage is behind $6 million in back taxes and apparently there's even more debt, some say he's broke. His spending is insane!!! aparently, he has 18 homes, 18 automobiles, 4 yachts, and a island in the Bahamas, among other things. He and his financial advisor are at odds with each other, neither willing to take the blame for his sorry state of debt...
I like your idea of taking care of your parents' morgage. That would be really nice
